Arquimea Deutschland, a design house with Spanish roots develops since 2014 radiation-resistant microchips and circuits for the aerospace industry in the Technologiepark Ostbrandenburg in Frankfurt (Oder). During the site selection process, Frankfurt (Oder) prevailed over Dresden, Heilbronn and Munich. The proximity to Berlin as well as the cooperation possibilities with the microelectronics institute IHP in Frankfurt (Oder) were decisive factors for the settlement. Following their development, the chips are produced among others at IHP in small scales and are used for example in satellites in space.
