The German Federal Ministry for Nutrition and Agriculture awarded the federal prize of merit 2015 to a total of 18 German breweries including the Frankfurter Brauhaus brewery, which is based in Frankfurt (Oder). The award is regarded as the highest accolade aGerman brewery can receive. In the quality audit for beer by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) the prize winners at tained the best results nationwide. Among other aspects, purity of taste, quality of hops, fullness of avour and freshness as well as stability of taste over storage time were assessed. The Frankfurter Brauhaus has been on a growth curve for some years now: In 2006 it took over the Brasserie Champigneulles brewery from France, in 2011 the Feldschlösschen brewery in Dresden and in 2015 the traditional Gilde brewery in Hanover, which previously belonged to the US brewery group Anheuser-Busch Inbev. The some 200 employees in Frankfurt (Oder) set a new record in 2015 by brewing nearly 2.5 million hectolitres of beer.
