Networking of business development institutions in the German-Polish economic area<\/a><\/dt>\n
Implementation period<\/span><\/span>: September 2017 – August 2020<\/p>\n

The motivation for initiating the project is that the various business locations in the German-Polish Euroregion Pro Europa Viadrina (located between the major cities of Berlin and Pozna\u0144) are currently carrying out their respective location marketing measures separately from one another instead of bundling their resources.<\/p>\n

Due to the attractive location of the Pro Europa Viadrina Euroregion on the TEN-T corridor North Sea-Baltic and the multimodal infrastructure that complements each other within the regions, logistics is to serve as a pilot industry in the project so that the locations can be shared with those available to them and use these opportunities for a strong regional brand as a cross-border business location. Any remaining deficits and bottlenecks in the existing logistical infrastructure should be recorded in a practical manner and passed on to politics and administration as recommendations for action for further expansion in the shared border region. In addition, the project aims to record and communicate practical implications for the training and further education of logistics specialists with German-Polish know-how. After an initial phase of development and testing, it is planned to transfer it to other branches of the economy in the long term. Furthermore, various cooperation structures are to be evaluated within the framework of the project and checked for practicality against the background of a possible cross-border institutionalization of the economic development institutions involved.<\/p>\n

Project partners on the German side are the cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Eisenh\u00fcttenstadt as well as the European University Viadrina. On the Polish side, the town of S\u0142ubice, the district of S\u0142ubice and the Kostrzyn-S\u0142ubice Special Economic Zone are involved. In addition, the transport infrastructure facilities belonging to the respective locations are involved in the project. The Investor Center Ostbrandenburg acts as the lead partner in the project.<\/p>\n

Measures that have been carried out for preparation of the application have been funded by the EU’s Small Project Fund. The project is financed by EU INTERREG program.<\/p>\n

North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions (NSB CoRe)<\/a><\/dt>\n
Implementation period<\/span>: May 2016 to April 2019
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/a>The Interreg Baltic Sea Region financed\u00a0NSB CoRe project aims to improve the sustainable accessibility of the Eastern Baltic Sea Region (EBSR) to freight and passenger transport, working out regional development strategies in the context of the TEN-T corridors North Sea-Baltic as well as a better access of peripheral regions.<\/p>\n

The project under leadership of the Finnish capital region (Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council) unites 16 project partners from 6 countries (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany).<\/p>\n

Logistikregion Viadrina (LRV)<\/a><\/dt>\n
Implementation period<\/span>: September 2011 to December 2014
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of the<\/span> project<\/span> Logistikregion Viadrina (logistics region<\/span> Viadrina)<\/span> was<\/span> the strengthening of regional<\/span> growth opportunities<\/span> with the help of a strong<\/span> logistics sector<\/span> in<\/span> the German-Polish<\/span> Euro<\/span>region Viadrina<\/span>. The project was partfinanced <\/span>by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).<\/p>\n

For this purpose<\/span>, the project partners<\/span> Investor Center<\/span> Ostbrandenburg<\/span> (<\/span>ICOB), the<\/span> Association<\/span> of<\/span> Berlin and Brandenburg<\/span> transport industry<\/span> (<\/span>LBBV), the<\/span> Polish Employers\u2019<\/span> Association<\/span> of the<\/span> road transport industry<\/span> (<\/span>OZPTD), the<\/span> Chamber of Commerce<\/span> East Brandenburg<\/span>, the Chamber of Commerce<\/span> project<\/span> mbH<\/span> and<\/span> the<\/span> Polish<\/span> Chamber of Commerce<\/span> Gorz\u00f3w<\/span> have successfully realised numerous<\/span> actions to increase<\/span> the competitiveness of the regional industry<\/span>, to strengthen the regional<\/span> value creation<\/span> in the sector<\/span> and to support<\/span> cross-border cooperation and collaboration<\/span> of<\/span> German and Polish<\/span> logistics companies<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Amber Coast Logistics (ACL)<\/a><\/dt>\n
Implementation period<\/span>: September 2011 to February 2014
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Amber Coast Logistics <\/span>was<\/span> a transnational<\/span> community<\/span> project to promote<\/span> multimodal<\/span> transport<\/span> links between<\/span> Central Europe<\/span> and<\/span> the southeastern<\/span> Baltic Sea<\/span> Region<\/span>. Both the<\/span> transport streams<\/span> and<\/span> the accessibility<\/span> to<\/span> the<\/span> sea and land<\/span> transport chains should be improved<\/span> as well as<\/span> the sustainable economic<\/span> cooperation between<\/span> the emerging economies<\/span> in the East<\/span> (<\/span>such as Belarus, Russia<\/span>, Kazakhstan and Ukraine<\/span>) and<\/span> the<\/span> EU Member States<\/span> of the Baltic Sea<\/span> Region<\/span> will be strengthened<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Alongside with the<\/span> Investor Center<\/span> Ostbrandenburg<\/span> a total of 19<\/span> project partners from<\/span> 6<\/span> countries<\/span> were involved in the<\/span> successful<\/span> implementation of the project<\/span>. Lead Partner<\/span> of the project was<\/span> the<\/span> Port of Hamburg Marketing<\/span> e.V.<\/p>\n

German-Polish Business Location Network<\/a><\/dt>\n
Implementation period: March 2010 to October 2013<\/p>\n

The project was realised within the framework of the operational program INTERREG IV A to promote European Territorial Cooperation. Partners of the project were the Investor Center Ostbrandenburg and the municipality of Slubice (Poland). The main objective of the project was to promote economic growth and creation of jobs via investments of new companies and through cooperation in the joint German-Polish business region around East Brandenburg and Western Poland area. Furthermore, the improved utilisation of the potential of the common economic region via location marketing from a single source, the preparations for the opening of the labour markets between Germany and Poland in 2011 and actions to avoid a shortage of skilled workers in the region were of special interest in the project work. Due to it\u2019s cross-border approach, the German-Polish business location network was a pilot project to focus the challenges of a regional cross-border development as one common business region.<\/p>\n
