Labour costs

  • Labour costs in Germany are constituted from the main components of gross wages and salaries plus payroll fringe benefits
  • In Eastern Germany, wages costs in industry are comparable with Japan, Canada and Spain (2009: 21.11 euros per working hour on average)
  • Average labour costs for processing industries in Western Germany form a single group with Sweden, Switzerland and Norway (2009:  36.05 euros per working hour) (source: Federal Ministry for Statistics (Destatis) 2010; German Institute for Industry 2010)

  • The team at the Investor Center Ostbrandenburg will cooperate with you, the employment agency and other local partners to develop an individual development package that is specially optimized for your needs. This may include the following:
  • Recruitment and preliminary selection of human resources according to company specifications
  • Retraining and qualification courses free-of-charge
  • Integration subsidies on hiring staff eligible for funding (standard funding: 30 percent of labour costs over 6 months, in special cases up to 50 % for a maximum of 24 months)
  • Hiring subsidy for start-up companies
  • Hiring subsidy in case of stand-in replacements (job rotation)
  • Subsidy for labour costs for participation of disabled persons in working life
